Chateau Croix Mouton 這座「波爾多最動人的小城堡」屬於釀酒奇才 Jean-Philippe Janoueix 所有。Janoueix是當地望族，整個家族在波爾多一共擁有20座酒莊，家族裡最年輕的 Jean-Philippe 則掌管其中六座，身兼莊主以及釀酒師。才華洋溢的 Jean-Philippe 師承釀酒大師 Michel Rolland，他是波爾多典型的新一代年輕莊主，不願跟隨傳統，酒莊的所在地也不是知名的酒村，憑藉出色的釀酒技巧Jean-Philippe一步步建立屬於自己的葡萄酒王國，年紀輕輕就獲得 Wine Grower of the Year 頭銜。
1997年，Jean-Philippe買下位於右岸多爾多涅河平原上的Chateau Mouton，此地屬於 BordeauxSuperieur優質波爾多等級，因撞名爭議更名為Chateau Croix Mouton十字木桐堡。Jean-Philippe擅於釀造Merlot葡萄，以冷浸泡與低溫發酵方式增加顏色和果香，每日進行淋汁和踩皮，經常攪動桶底讓死酵母和酒液混合，讓酒質更加濃厚甜潤。調合比例則以 Jean-Philippe拿手的梅洛葡萄為主，採用約90% Merlot加上10% Cabernet Franc調配而成，他不惜成本使用50%的新橡木桶來培養，不到一年即裝瓶出廠。
釀出來的酒充滿垂涎欲滴的濃郁莓果味，口感均衡，迷人的果香甜美好喝。Chateau Croix Mouton不僅名字與五大酒莊Chateau Mouton雷同，就連酒標也仿效名莊作法，每年推出不同色彩和字體設計的M字酒標，讓酒款更具有收藏價值。
